The exhibition “9 Colours” features contemporary artists from South Africa is the first exhibition that Blue Ocean hosts and exhibits online. Blue Ocean's intension is to create a space online for digital born artworks. “9 Colours” focuses on investigating how the digital space is a space for artists to experiment and play, to iterate and repeat, to copy and paste. These behaviours allow digital artworks to be visible and accessible, and also acquired through NFTs. NFTs are currently a much-debated system and mechanism, this exhibition encouraged artists to respond critically - as a system, to their processes and procedures (eg. Minting etc). Artists were invited to select one colour and submit work in response to the above concepts and ideas.
