The Ferrari Monza SP2 is inspired by the barchettas of the 1950s that were driven to victory in motorsports not only by Scuderia team drivers, but also by a legion of gentleman drivers. The result is a car that seems sculpted by the wind. It is the purity of the styling elements that impresses - an aesthetic that is futuristic, yet, at the same time, a respectful, but not nostalgic, tribute to the past. The SP2 uses the brand's most advanced design techniques, as evidenced by the full carbon fiber body, with construction methods similar to the ones used to build Formula One racing cars. Special attention has been given to the design of the doors, which open upwards. Equally important is the one-piece carbon fiber bonnet-fenders, hinged at the front to reveal the imposing V12 engine once open. The engine is derived from the 812 Superfast model, but optimized for greater performance. It also uses variable inlet ducts, like naturally aspirated Formula 1 engines. According to the brand, this design provides an unrivaled sound experience, with the sense of total immersion in the Ferrari DNA.
