The McLaren 675LT Spider is an evolution of the 650S model, but more circuit-oriented. Launched exclusively online in 2015, only 525 were produced, including the Carbon Series variant. The carbon-ceramic brakes, together with suspension elements derived from the McLaren P1, the ultra lightweight 10-spoke alloy wheels, a windscreen 1 mm thinner than that of the 650S, the removal of acoustic insulation material and the adoption of racing seats are some of the features that reduce the total weight by 100 kg in comparison to the model from which it derives. The McLaren 675LT Spider has a carbon-fibre body that generates 40 per cent more downforce compared to any previous McLaren model. Operating the hardtop, derived from the McLaren 650S Spider, takes 16 seconds. And performance is equally stunning - the engine, revised for this model, produces 25 hp more than the previous version. And the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox is twice as fast, thanks to the adoption of software specific to this model. The model's naming gives a glimpse of the power generated by the powertrain and the acronym LT stands for Long Tail.
