Created by customisation service "Q by Aston Martin” in collaboration with Boeing, the Aston Martin V12 Speedster is inspired by the F/A-18 fighter plane and the DBR1, the brand's model that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959. Although the design is derived from the brand's more usual products, the platform was specially designed for this model. The exceptional treatment given to the body, in carbon fibre, and the interior, with details in aluminium and leather, is a testament to the care put into the creation of a product as special as this one. The lack of a windscreen is a throwback to the barchettas of old, with traditional aerodynamic deflectors in front of the occupants and humps behind the seats. With the latter also used to house the helmets, so necessary in this type of car. The front mid-mounted, all alloy, quad cam 48-valve engine is mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission with a limited-slip differential driving the rear wheels. Hand-built, the Aston Martin V12 Speedster is limited to 88 examples.
